Default Legal advice

Hey guys, if anyone here is a lwayer or officer or have any legal knowledge, please help me out.

I just got off of the phone with my friend, 16 and lives in KC. He and his friend were riding thier dirtbikes on some residential streets, going way too fast, and complaints led to the cops. The cop showed up with his lights on and he decided to screw it and run from him. His friend's bike just then died so that didn't work out. He was cuffed and brought back to his parents house. He had already gotten a warning from the same cop, so he got a ticket this time for operating an illegal street vehicle, no liscense, no liscense plate, and resisting arrest. The court date is set for January 9, 06. I read somewhere that you can move the court date. Is this possibile in this situation?

Yeah, the court date can be moved and probably will be. Tell him to get a lawyer, it's going to be worth it.

he got a warning before and got a ticket this time? seems like he didn't learn from his mistake the first time. then he tried to run from the police?
also, when one person from the neighborhood complained, you can be sure that more than one person is annoyed. Your friend is a jerk for doing that more than once. he should think about how his actions affect others when he's out having fun.

I hope your friend lives some where with a good public transit system.

There is no such thing as good public transportation in KC. If he lives in Overland Park...I am surprised he got a warning at all. Yes, he can move the date, but, in this case, it will be up to the lawyer he gets. I doubt he will be able to get away with it.
