Default Life After Death?

This came up in another thread and I thought it would be cool to get others ideas.
What do you think happens after we buy the farm, kick the bucket, bite the dust if you will? If there life after death?

sure... but I don't think you'll be conscious in the same state... so you die and are "reincarnated" as a daisy... would it make a diff?

I'm a Christian so you would probably know what I believe in.

I'm personally open to the idea that there's something after death, but am not counting on it. I think we most likely just die, lose consciousness, and that's the end of the story. Now, if there is something after death, then hopefully I'll get to come back as a malevolent spirit who torments and exacts revenge on my enemies.

Yea, it basically doens't matter if there is or there isn't. If you die and there is an afterlife, then you will experience it (in whatever way). If you die and there isn't an afterlife, then you won't experience anything or even be aware of the fact that you aren't experiencing anything...

Personaly I have no idea.

The thing that I have problems with is the fact that people get "stupider" when they get hit in the head. If physical damage to your head affects your intelligence, awareness, and conscious, then how can someone make a case that when you die your soul/conscious goes on to the afterlife?

Or I guess you could make the argument that your brain is a receiver of some sort, receiving the signal of your soul from a different relative plane. I just don't know...

IMO, when you're dead you're dead.. were just animals like every other on the planet.. if I step on an ant, does it transcend to the afterlife? I'm thinking no

Ditto that for me--even though there is disagreement among Christians as to various particulars.
