Hmmmmmmm.........Alot more leg work. More satisfaction, experiences. Much more imaginative in perspective. Slower pace and patience! People now a days are in to big of a hurry! "If I can't find it on the internet I don't have time." They have no patience or understanding for each other. Rushing through life is BS! Life was slower and more sedate. Employers were human beings instead of slave drivers who's lives aren't in focus. Today, it's rush, rush, rush from one instance to the next. Hell, when all the rushings over what do you have to show for it? Your arse is worn out, your mentally tired with no energy left to enjoy the time you have to yourself.
People need to slow down and relax, chill out, think alittle bit! Makes life alot more peaceful and enjoyable. Just because you think you have the energy to do more doesn't mean you have to or need to.
People, were more in tune with life as a whole. You guys who are in your twentys need to get the hell off the computer and get out and see some of the country you live in. Exchange ideas and learn new ways. Shake hands with your fellow man one on one. Gives you time to think, unwind and relax! You know, smell the roses kinda thing. It's alittle hard for me to see the need to rush through everything. Where's the enjoyment in it.

JRM:
I'm one of those 20 somethings. I used to be an internet fiend - when I got my 1st computer and the net (circa '96) I spent probably 40-60 hrs/week on the net, doing essentially nothing. I tapered off in college, maybe 20-30 hours a week, doing very little (occasional research, but mostly reading and gaming), and my senior year had somewhat of a "revelation" - that sitting on my computer was a complete waste of time! I now use it strictly as a tool, especially in the summer (when I'd rather be outside, driving my S, etc). It is a wonderful tool, and that was the point I was trying to make, with getting information that would otherwise be hard to get. Rather than spending days/weeks doing the legwork of getting an apartment in a different state that I was completely unfamiliar with, I've scrunched it into about 4 hours of internet time, a handful of phone calls, and 1 day of looking. Rushing, yes! Because of "rushing" through this, I can actually enjoy my last couple weeks in Cheeseland, rather than constant worrying about the whole thing.

Damn BBS boards, I remember using archie, veronica and gopher. Now that's really old stuff.
First time I saw a graphical www page, it took forever to load. I kept thinking that there was no way this was going to work. It just took too long to get the information. Boy, was I ever wrong.
