Live until 1000 yo...
basically he's wanting to restore our "lost" and "deteriorated" cells, rather than try to retard the damage.
i think its pretty interesting.
he raises a lot of good questions on his website,
but
1. i think he's got his hands in too many pots, and
2. even if his ideas are good, i think the technology is very, very, very far away.
3. this will be contested by sooo many people
4. i personally think it'd be cool to be a vampire.

I might want to live to 200 or so, aging at half speed. I'll let you know when I reach 90 and it's too late.
You should read what he says before you jump to conclusions.
He might look like a goof ball, but he's got two PhD's from Cambridge. A reputable magazine said they'd award anyone who can disprove his ideas with science $20,000. Many top scientists/doctors have attempted, but the magazine says none of them proved him wrong.
If they can't, do you think you have the capacity to? I do not.

The main problem with his theories is that there isn't enough radical thinking in the medical/biochem field like there is in the engineering/physics areas to change how we treat the body.
Think of it this way: The only real major change in the medical field in the past few hundred years was the advent of antibiotics. All of our modern medicines work in the same way as the medicines of long ago, just more refined. There are almost no medications that specifically target the problem, and nothing else. All of our most powerful medicines have equally powerful harmful side effects.
