idiots like him always exist to entertain us. Not even worth considering what he says other than for pure entertainment (even lookin at his beard). Is he homosexual too? sorry
Yea he's an idiot who happens to be one of the leading gerontologist in the world. Cambridge must be crazy when they gave him his B.A. and PhD. MIT Technology Review issued a "SENS Challenge" as an award to any biochemist that can prove de Grey wrong, and he has not been proven wrong yet.

What have you done with your genius mind lately?

The main problem with his theories is that there isn't enough radical thinking in the medical/biochem field like there is in the engineering/physics areas to change how we treat the body.

Think of it this way: The only real major change in the medical field in the past few hundred years was the advent of antibiotics. All of our modern medicines work in the same way as the medicines of long ago, just more refined. There are almost no medications that specifically target the problem, and nothing else. All of our most powerful medicines have equally powerful harmful side effects.
Not sure if your worded your first part correctly, but I get your point and agree (the main problem isn't with* his theories).

Unlike engineering, economics, astronomy, etc. people are more or less just tought to memorize what "is" in most medical fields. The previously mentioned studies are half what is and half what we just figured out and what we are trying to figure out next. Of course there are advancements in the medical fields, but I agree that the mentality of what can be accomplished is very conservative and limited to certain areas [disease, rebuilding broken bones/structures, etc.].

I've got a lot of friend's in the field and although I didn't really think about it I get his point.

I don't understand.. what does all his awards and shits have to do with me saying he's an idiot? I think you need a T-virus too. We have PLENTY of GENIUSES out there in this world that are also psychos.

What have you been smoking lately?
Ummmm, it's implied that Cambridge do not award degrees to idiots. So he's a psycho genius now? Idiot is quite different from genius or psycho.

you are talking about what we could do with foreign objects to our body (cars, phone, moonpod, etc)

but the body to live longer, we have to reverse or slow down the aging of our body. and once its stop regenerating/growing, there isn't much we can do about it

maybe the mind can live forever (ghost in the shell?), but the body may come to one point that it just won't be able to sustain life anymore

Give me a break... what the fck is with you and your cambridge. One may be smart and knowledgeable in what he studies but that has nothing to do with his mind. I'm saying it's ridiculous of him to say humans can live 1000 years. You can now continue with your scientific proof and shits.
