Default Logitech wheel for GT3 is irritating me

I just picked up the Logitech force-feedback wheel for my PS2 a couple days ago, and the "driver assist" steering is really pissing me off...I hate having the wheel jerking around in my hands all the time. I tried setting it to "Simulation" and that seems to turn it off, but if I run more than one race (or even pause the game for awhile and come back) the stupid driver assist crap turns back on, regardless of how I have it set . Anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution? Something wrong with my wheel? Arrrrrrrgh....I can drive the car myself, dammit!

I think if you unplug the power cord, FF is disabled. The wheel should still work.

Yeah you could unplug the power cord to disable. But it wouldn't be fun though. I like it like the real thing where u can feel bumps and stuff. Plus it gives u a feeling if there's somethin wrong or if ur stepin into somethin while ur steering.

Unfortunately it's not simply the force-feedback that's causing the problem. It's the driver assist setting. Even with it set at "Simulation" the computer keeps trying to steer the damn car. If I let go of the wheel while on a straightaway, the wheel will sit there and oscillate back and forth like crazy.

is all the force feedback stuff really up to par yet? The early stuff was simply "vibrate when something different is happening"... I was like... wtf, why would you feel it in the joystick when a helicopter blades whipped around?

I had a PS2 + GT3 + Logitech forcefeedback wheel. It sucked so bad I got disgusted and sold the entire system to a friend.

Get rid of that POS, in my opinion.
