So... let's say an average car gets about 28 mpg. Average gas price I put as an average of $2.50 per gallon. Now... at 96720 miles per year (just to work and back mind you), he's spending $8635.71 a year on gas. That's a nice chunk of change right there that he could be saving up.

I don't know... maybe he picks up some chick on the way to work and back and receives road-head during the commute? That's the only way I would do something like and only if it's a different chick each day... lol.

That's just crazy. Why doesn't Cisco give him a work terminal from home or a video conferencing system or something? There's no real honor in winning that competition.

Mariposa is a pretty (and growing like a weed) town set in a pine forest on Highway 41 south of the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. We've driven through Mariposa many, many times and once stayed there. http://www.visitmariposa.net/

LOL!! Funny you should say that. For a while I had a commute of about 110 miles EACH WAY and after a few days I started noticing my speeds were creeping up. I was taking open country roads and the first 25 miles were at around 110 - 120 mph...the middle 75 miles were at around 95 - 100 mph....the remainder were at about 110 mph. I just got sick of spending that much time in the car. Lucky for me, I had a fast and stable car at the time.

Is he getting reimbursed for his traveling? If so, that can add up to be a nice chunk of change...especially if you drive a pos beater that you don't give a chit about. Even so, I must agree...the guy is a geek. His family in his ranch? Probably he's talking about his parents .
You could not own a POS and drive that much. You would have to have a reliable car.
