Default look at your number pad on your key board.

it looks like

7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3
0

but calculators, phones, atm machines... etc, etc, etc... have the pattern like...

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
0

...
...
...
why? i don't get it. and it makes me confused eachi time i put in numbers with key board.

Put a mirror above the number pad and resolve never to use the zero.

Problem solved.

Just a QWERTY keyboard layout and design ... I suppose.

Since machine language is primarily in 0s and 1s, the keypad was designed so that it was easier for programmers since the 0s and 1s are closer together....or so this is what I heard. I think I saw it on some TV show.

I once had a job running credit card purchases through the phone... about 1000 of them a day. I would type the 16 digit CC number and the purchase amount on a phone keypad (reverse 10-key). Then I'd be on a calculator (regular 10-key) to add the amounts to double check the totals... ugh! It actually became second nature after a couple days. It's actually a quite useful skill!

Just another one of those things in life that were done to upset S2000 owners!

Heck, all my phones have the numbers wrong.. they don't match up with my keyboard.

Guess I need to go check out my wireless keypad for my garage door and see if its wrong also!!
