look at your number pad on your key board.
There is a reason they are opposite. Those that work with calculators by touch can get pretty damn fast, and the early keyboards (computers) were not fast enough to keep up, and would drop numbers. So they reversed them to slow the operator down. Now it shouldn't matter of course.
