CRT is better than plasma or LCD for cost, image brightness, and longevity. Only thing the others have on it is size.

Of course CRT has advantage in cost because it's prehistoric. LCDs can last up to 25 years, as long as a conventional CRT. One thing you forgot, LCD and plasma have a HUGE advantage in picture quality, though I'm sure you were being sarcastic.

Anyone who puts image quality above all else will choose a CRT, unless they let themselves get conned by the hype machines of LCD/plasma.
For Plasma & LCD Owners:
I need to buy an 'articulating' wall mount for my 42" Panasonic Plasma.
Where are some places that have quality wall mounts?
Some home entertainment shop wanted $700.00 for one.
I've seen a couple online for great prices.
Which brand/shop should I go with?
TIA

yes CRTs are still awesome. Check out the Sony KD-34XBR960 for a stunning picture. Downside.. only 34"
And who cares if DLPs will be gone in 5 years? They are here now. They offer great picture, large screen sizes, and reasonable prices. It will probably last you 9 years before the cost of bulbs overtake the money you save by not buying LCD/plasma. You can also buy $100 warranties that cover cost of your first bulb, etc.

CRT is indeed superior to all, but CRT tubes are HUGE!
