Default Looking for a sexy way to hide LCD wiring...

Hey guys,

I am moving to a new place, and unfortunately, the wall I plan on mounting my Samsung LED TV is double brick, so hiding wires in the wall is out of the question. I have searched high and low for some nice cable raceways, but all I can find is the generic boxy plastic crap, or some decent stuff that costs $400,000. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas/sources on a nice way to externally hide some wiring? Any help is appreciated.

Make some type of architectural feature..

Two pipes running floor to ceiling, or glass block.

Or go nuts, shave out a pathway in the grout, then parge the wall

If there is a single layer of drywall over the brick you can gouge it and mud the wires in. Don't tell your inspector.

No go guys. The wall is solid DOUBLE brick. Meaning, it's one layer of brick, with ANOTHER brick right behind it. It seems it is the structural wall of the building (6 apartment unit.) I will check if there is drywall over the brick (there is, but I want to make sure it's at least 1/2") and see if I can mud the wires in.

How do you plan on mounting the LCD onto the brick wall? May I suggest a ceiling mount instead?

All your other electronics can go up on a shelf by the TV, but all the wires can be tucked away into the ceiling. It'd be a huge hassle if it's not a permanent residence. This is the way my parents wired their house.

If you don't want to wire it into the ceiling, you could stick it onto the ceiling with one of those flat plastic wire holders for the floor so peeps won't trip. It won't be as noticeable or ugly if it's just one straight like to your electronics.
