How do you plan on mounting the LCD onto the brick wall? May I suggest a ceiling mount instead?

All your other electronics can go up on a shelf by the TV, but all the wires can be tucked away into the ceiling. It'd be a huge hassle if it's not a permanent residence. This is the way my parents wired their house.

If you don't want to wire it into the ceiling, you could stick it onto the ceiling with one of those flat plastic wire holders for the floor so peeps won't trip. It won't be as noticeable or ugly if it's just one straight like to your electronics.
What do you mean how? Drill 4 holes, and stick the mount up with lag bolts. That part is cakewalk. The hiding wires part isnt.

Oh. I was under the impression you didn't want to mess with the bricks. Are you renting this place? If not, you could build a dry wall column against the brick wall the length of the TV and wire everything into the wall, including cutting holes for your other electronic devices.

I think the ceiling plan is the cleanest way, and it's pretty easy to patch up if you move out.

Is your home sitting on a slab, or raised foundation? If it's on a raised foundation you could run the wires underneath the floor and just use a free standing TV mount which you could hide the wires behind.

If it's a slab, run the wires in the ceiling and drop down to your wall or free standing mount. At the most you will see two feet of wire which you can cover with your choice of wireways, raceway or cable trough covering painted to match/blend with the brick.

Make some type of architectural feature..

Two pipes running floor to ceiling, or glass block.

Or go nuts, shave out a pathway in the grout, then parge the wall
I agree, a floor to ceiling truss would look great and keep an industrial decor.

A friend of mine snaked all the wire through braided steel lines. I believe he used 4 ft. braided steel washing machine lines. Similiar to these http://www.plumbingsupply.com/flexes.html, it was very inexpensive.

It was in his basement/bar area and added a nice finish and contrasted nicely with the block wall.

Sexy way to hide LCD wiring, eh? How about drapes of some variety hung above & on either side of the tv and then some sort of rug or carpet on the floor in front of the tv. If you're feeling really adventurous, cut or trim the carpet so that it's in the shape of a lightning bolt.

It shouldn't be too difficult to find carpet that matches the drapes.
