^^
Bus service ran during the hurricane and after the hurricane to transport these people to the dome?

The people still in their houses lived close enough to walk to the dome?

The dome could only hold XXX amount many people were turned away so where are they to go, the high point of NO?

It is has been 5 days and many people have been without food or water. Think of the elderly, sick and the young. This is a very sad situation. May God bless them!

THEY CALLED THE EVACUATION OVER 24HOURS BEFORE THE HURRICANE HIT!

Bus service was running before the hurricane, you know the time to get your ass out of there!

No one is being turned away, watch the news, they get food and water if they show up but they can't go inside because inside is screrwed up.

Would you prefer to get food and water and have to sit on a dry hot stinky bridge outside the dome or die on top of your roof without food or water?

yeah but when the evacuation was called of course people were leaving in their cars at the same time. NO was quoted as being gridlocked for hundreds of miles. My friend's grandfather said it took him 7 hours to move 60 miles.

YES! If you live in NO you live within walking distance otherwise you wouldn't need to walk there. You know I wouldn't walk there from Limerick PA but I would walk there if I lived in NO. It's called a hike and it might take your sorry ass 10 hours @ ~3mph to get there 30 miles, but i would've saved your dumb ass. However I would recommend you hop on a bus.

First you walk there before the hurricane hits.

Do you have two legs? If not the ambulances were evacuting you.

Even if it takes 10 hours you walk to the superdome before the storm because you want to live and you have more than two brain cells!

If not you've placed yourself in your situation. I do have a problem with the convention center fiasco.

excel, have you ever experienced a hurricane? Have you ever been to New Orleans?

I was in Andrew and experienced firsthand what its like. The mass confusion in the hours leading up to it. The mass devastation and chaos in the days and weeks, even months after Andrew.

I also lived in New Orleans for 4 years so I understand how the atmosphere is there. The local government and police are very corrupt. The people are very poor. About 20% of the residents live below the poverty line. Another 10% live at on and a little above the poverty line. Not everyone has the luxuries you and I take for granted daily.

You, sitting in the comfort of your home, criticizing those poor people have no clue what its like. None of us do because none of us has ever experienced something like this. You make it sound so friggin easy. Just walk there you say. Its not as simple as that.

A couple of days ago they said that it would take about 450 busses to move people from the Superdome to other locations. Do you think that NO had 450 buses operational before the hurricane. Do you think most of the bus drivers even showed up for work. My best bet is that they didnt. I bet NO doesn't even have 450 buses. A number like 100 buses is probably more accurate. There was probably a shortage of ambulances and ambulance workers as well.

I wouldn't want to go to work if I was being shot at by armed groups of people.
