Mingster,

I'm sorry, buddy. Post some info about what kind of skills you have and what kind of position you want -- I know that a lot of us are in positions to help out in different tech specialties.

I realize that we are in different cities, but the people who have been laid off from my company are having zero problems finding new jobs. Hang in there.

Really sorry to hear this, Richard. Haven't known you long but you're a stand up guy. I remember a post some time ago about how great your wife is. She'll ride this thing through with you. Do what you gotta do till it all comes together. I'm sure that there's enough guys on this forum with lots of connections and contacts to lend you a hand. RIGHT, GUYS? I'll look forward to a post from you real soon with good news.

Hang in there, bro. Try and look at this as a real opportunity and not a down turn.

I'm just a dumb finance guy, so I don't know crap about tech. but I'm sure if you post your info. on here someone can give you some help.

As for your wife, I recall you posting a great message just a few weeks ago about her being the best in the world. I'm sure it won't be a fun conversation, but she's gonna be there for you.

Keep your head up and keep us posted.

Mingster,

Sorry to hear that man.. i'm in the same boat. got laid off in dallas in early april.. still haven't find anything. web design, graphic design jobs are pretty hard to find at the moment.. i've managed to hang on to the S by moving back in w/ the folks and collecting unemployment. kinda pathetic.. but what else can i do. wish you luck man. I'm sure your wife will understand.

Sorry to here it Mingster. It's a sign of the times.

I would love to think you could do the Import Development thing full time and make a decent living. That's got to beat working for a living .

I am very sorry to hear about this as well Mingster, but Aus2000 could be right... concentrate on Import Development, and things could work out. At least it is one avenue you could take. Good luck and best wishes... and I know your wife will understand.

Richard,

Sorry to hear about this but as others have indicated, this could be a great opportunity for you. I did independent consulting on the side for a couple of years and enjoyed it. Take your time and try to decompress from the old job.

Your next project is to find the job and employer who is fortunate enough to hire you! You are a free agent now.

Keep your head up, Richard. It's not you, it's the economy and it happens to best of us! It's often a lot worse for those you have left behind.

Good Hunting!!!

John
