I don't think they controlled who picked up the wallets, it just happened that no hispanics or oriental test subjects picked up the wallets.

All the Mexicans were having a siesta and the "orientals" can't see the wallet, it's outside of their field of vision.

I would hazard a guess location might have a bit of influence on the results as well... Obviously not cut and dried, just like the race/sex/etc.

Hmm... follow up to the experiment? Which portion of town are you more likely to get your wallet back?

They would have found out, I use to be a teller in college, everything is balanced down to a penny. Whenever you don't balance out, the lead teller than the manager try to help u look for it, if it's a big amount like that, they analyze every single transaction.
