Default Loud ass neighbors

I have someone on the floor below me that plays some seriously loud ass bass music and I tried to give a few STFU stomps on the roof to let them know I dont appreciate this shit. Now, im gonna act with reason here, what should I do at first, I called the police about this, they even refuse to come out, said i should write me apt manager about the issue, which I will do. Now im gonna write afew times, but what all options should i exhaust before i go down there with a bat and gun and get my self arrested?

Just complain to the manager as you were planning to. If they don't turn it down after that, let the manager know again and he might just have to give them the boot.

I've called the cops on my neighbors before ... I've never been told that they weren't going to come out. If calling the cops doesn't do anything, I'd go to the property manager and let them know the cops aren't helping and that the neighbors are being too loud. You could always go talk to the neighbors yourself ... sometimes people honestly have no idea how loud they are and will turn it down in order to keep the peace. Hope this helps.

Ya gonna go the Manager route, the cops say they need some proof or evidence that they are too loud,... so ya... I read up on some laws and seems that afew written complaints can get someone booted, so no need for me to get irrational, ill take the safe and legal path.

one more option: find out when they sleep and play loud music then.

Long beach must be too hectic of a city for cops to bother with such miniscule offenses. Here in college town Davis, cops will come out. According to them, after 4 nosie violations in one year, the current residents will be petitioned to be evicted from the premises. Do make it an effort to let it be known that you're be harassed by your neighbor who is consciously disrupting the peace of your neighborhood. Keep trying.

get a large home speaker.
lay it on floor facing down.
play polka music, bluegrass or whatever is total opposite of what they're playing extreemly loud whenever youre not home.

I'm pretty disturbed that you have called the cops and written the manager without talking to them first.

Anyway, if you do go talk to them and they do continue to be unreasonable then this is what you have to do http://www.ci.long-beach.ca.us/civica/file...asp?BlobID=2789

It is not handled by the police but Health and Human Services.

I guess I have left out the part where I have actually tried several time to ask them politely and calmly, each time I get "Oh sorry, didnt know I was that loud, Ill turn it down" Then 5 minutes later its the same thing, and its been goin on for weeks now. The apt managers here are useless, and Im actually down in SD now, and its a very well to do area, freakin rent is over 5k a mo here, so I figured the lower class people who do this kinda stuff would be in less expensive areas.
