You are a joke to compare what the German does compare to us. I can think of thousands of ideas that we should do to better ourself here in the U.S. if we were to compare to our across the pond neighbors. Seem to work great for them so we should do it too right? How narrow minded and ignorant does one has to be to think "if you can do it, I can do it too" without studying and knowing what you can and can't do?

What part of you buy a car and the politicos dictate what you can and cannot use in terms of performance that is so hard for you to understand?

The German's spend around $3K to earn a license because of this they get to use the full potential of their cars. We on the other hand give the DMV wage slave a twenty or so and everyone is a "driver". They get the autobahn we get a speed limit. Less people die on their Bahn compared to the same miles driven in the US. Still with me?

This moron wants to lower the insane speed limits we are forced to drive to save fuel? We are supposed to be the land of the free, if I want to floorboard my 500hp full size truck that's get's 9 MPG then I will suffer the pain at the pump.

If the price of fuel reaches a point were I do not want to pay the price I will stop driving ( never will happen for me). I resent some f_cktard politico telling me how much gas I can use.

The autobahn will never work here because the peasants here will riot if you told them they had to spend $3k for a real license. The roads here are a joke compared to over there. Many of the pile of crap cars here would never be approved to run on the road if we used their standards. Still with me?

Sadly this is probably over your head. Have someone explain it to you. Tell me what points I have outlined don't make sense?

I agree! It's always some dumbshit here in Virginia coming up with dumbass laws to make money and rob people. Take the droopy pants bill for instance. I totally agree where he's coming from, about your pants sagging past your underwear, but who is the government to tell me what the hell I can wear and how to wear it? There are way too many dumb laws on the books already and it just makes VA as a state look like we are all dumb backwoods bible beating rednecks and we're not.

Every car has a sweet spot to get the best gas mileage and 55 mph isn't the best for many newer cars.

the use of "do" vs. "does", in some of these posts, hurts my heart.

I agreed with you for most of it. However, this is the part that u don't seem to understand. I can get a gun and go postal if I want to, but shouldn't I look at the consequence for doing it first? You stated many times that most people over here don't know how to drive and you want them to get a 500hp, 9mpg car and the freedom to drive as fast as they want? THIS IS MY ONLY POINT TRYING TO SHOW THAT YOU ARE AN IDIOT. It like giving a gun to a little kid or a dangerous convict and tell him "now be careful with this and don't hurt yourself, better yet anyone else with it"

^^^^Once again, you just prove my point that you are an idiot. Can you keep it in the U.S. please? Who give a **** about what the Europeans does? I do want more examples, something more relevant IN the U.S. would be nice. How old are you? You called Sen. John Warner, R-Va an idiot and not that I'm disagreeing with you, but you are not far from him either. You've just stated how easy and inexperience it is over here to get a driving license and you want to...........I rest my case your honor.
Dude youre totally clueless.. supposedly the govts whole agenda is safety? My ass it is, its all about revenue plain and simple. Now europeans have sharper penalties and consequences for and when they do speed and stricter regulations about it, buts its all within reason... residential areas, schools, hospitals etc... but the freeway aka autobhan clearly illustrated. Also here in the states the NHTSA surveys for most highways and roads are so rediciously out of date, they do no longer reflect the 70 percentile of moving traffic. They are out of date and the feds and local govts make no effort to keep them updated because lower speed limits = more revenue.

Id say 9 out of 10 speed limit fan boys are mathicatically and physics knowhow retarded. Lets talk probability of high vs low speed and driver attention and reaction. Its a NHTSA fact that drivers who driver the minimun or slower are generally known to be less aware and responsive to their surrounds and more likely to cause higher congestion levels in roadways. We can piss all day about speed limits and safety and all that shit, but i got an idea, get off the soap box and lets see some updated speed surveys that are grosely outdated...

Ya I read some reports and that was mainly pertaining to older carbureted cars, but with modern LEV vehicles, fuel injection and other advances, they said 55 doesnt equal better gas mileage and improved economy. Hypermilling has had some nice statistics.

He wants it lowered to 55, because why? Has anyone seen the newly imposed speeding fees and consequences? Its a goldmine for their already broke state govt.

And sorry to say it, but your an asshole to taking it personal to people on expressing their opinions, no one ever attacked you directly. So take your soapbox home if you cant keep it on topic, Kthxbai

Last I heard, 2000 and 2001 S2000s get best gas mileage around 75-85 mph (something about the fuel map leaning out around those speeds) ...as long as they let me go at the speed that my car is most efficient and everyone else stays out of the left lane, I'll be fine
