Mac experts: how is OS X?
a linux?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?! EXCUSE ME, but it's based on BSD!!!
Coming from a FreeBSD addict, it's a candy coated BSD. pretty cool, but if you can only use one mouse button at a time you need to work on your coordination.

Apple's stock mouse is single button and it'll do everythign you need. But OSX supports multi-button wheel mice natively and most of the third party ones have OSX drivers anyway. I use Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical wheel mouse and it's great.
I also use a Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro and all the extra buttons are active.

Yeah but I really wish that they would do a two button system on there labtops it drives me nuts on some programs that I have.
On a side note does anyvody have a book segestion on how to modify X from a command point and I need one for the WI-Fi/airport networks.

I use a Logitech wheel mouse (USB) on my iMac and it works great. Both mouse buttons and the wheel work with no software to install.
OSX Takes a bit of getting used to but it's pretty good. No Trillian tho...

I will say one other thing and while I don't use the Mac much everything I've plugged into it has come up flawlessly and as expected. Video camera, mouse, digital camera, etc. Much better hardware support IMO than Windoze. Win2K USB support is really buggy and driver installation sucks. Sometimes you need to install the driver first, then plug in the device, sometimes the other way round. PITA.
The iMac's USB support is slick and trouble free.
