It's ok, but a bit harsh...unrefined IMHO. I think Oban is superior, or even Dalwhinnie or Gragganmore.

[QUOTE=SpudRacer,Oct 6 2010, 08:11 PM] I think you could duplicate the flavor and smell by filling a highball glass with a handful of peat moss from Home Depot, lighting it on fire for a few seconds, and then dousing the flames with some Dalwhinnie.

The ice thing is pretty subjective. Personally, I think ice damages the flavor, unless it's something cheap like Dewar's or JW Red.

I enjoyed a Macallan on the rocks this past weekend; it is much smoother than many cheaper (inferior) scotches that I sampled previously.

This next part has nothing to do with scotch, but more with the dream of correcting magician. I am fairly certain 'I've' cannot be used as a contraction for the possessive form of 'I have'. Also, 'drunk' is not a verb.

Can you guys describe the flavor difference between JW Blue and some of the single malts? My only experience with Scotch so far was the Johnny Walker and I didn't find it very palatable.

^ Johnny Blue is smoooth, but I find that the flavor isn't as distinct as most single malt Scotch. As mentioned above, it's great, but not worth the price of admission. A bottle of Blue is like a boat; great if somebody you know has one.
