On my way to Blockbuster today, I heard on the radio that Afghanistan is in a mess and people are either fleeing the country or stocking up food. While you may think they deserve it, there are civilians involved and don't deserve this type of treatment.

I am assuming that those who are able to flee are those wealthier ones or those with political connections. So what about those who are not blessed with such facilities? I don't think they deserve to be punished just because they happen to be in the same situation/race/area as the guilty.

An attack is necessary but careful planning is even more important. We don't want to sink to their level and involve innocent bystanders like those in the Tuesday's incident.

Charlie,
Do NOT take a pill, I am with you.

Sondra,

Thank you for your opinions and comments in this thread it nice to keep us in check. The opinions and concerns certainly have made this thread very worthy. I would add though I have an added expertise having served in the military with 2 years of combat time. I was in Military Intelligence (I know oxy moron ) and specialized in the Middle East and and surrounding region for years, 18 if you want me to be exact. While I have been retired for a few years I am still very much into the political/military affairs of the region and spend an enormous amount of time on keeping up with what is going.

Here is a great site that I subscribe to and have even contributed to some things there. I am not employed by them, but it is a great independent source of information from around the world on intelligence matters; www.stratfor.com. You may have to pay to subscribe, but some info is free check it out. I pay for the info and just love to read the articles.

Thanks to everyone for some very good posts and the humor, I am enjoying the dialog.

God bless all the victims and their families.

I'm still waiting for Alec Baldwin to make good on his promise to leave the country if Bush became president. The only thing he managed to leave was his wife.

No its time for America to recognize the diff between actors with an agenda and true Amercian heros. Its that attitude that has us in this situation. Sit back, relax, take a pill, see where that has our country now.

IMO our biggest enemy is America itself. Our children are growing up to be wimps and are brain washed by what they see on TV. Their heros are actors and singers who spew half truths and mock our goverment. I hope and pray those days are now behind us.

I think Madonna has a right to her opinion and to say what she wants to say. What I don't understand is why her doing and saying this made headline news all over the world.

CG, that's exactly what I was trying to say. Why in hell does it make news around the world when one of these people speak? It's truly sad...

As I type this, Chuck Norris in on Fox about the attack. Man, he has the right to say, but why does anyone care...boo hiss to Fox!

We haven't touched a civilian's head in Afghanistan; they are running because they are afraid of being near their government when hell breaks loose.
