Making the best of a DUI

All and sundry, he didn't have to say anything at all. The fact that he decided to post this shows his regret. Doesn't change what happened one way or another, but it's better than not having regret, right?
Unless you have less than a few years in the service your Military career will suffer from this point on.
You said it all when you said you got "Caught". Point is, you'd probably still be drinking and driving if you hadn't.
Especially since you are in the Military I have ZERO simpathy for you. Let me say that again.... ZERO. You have been told probably over a hundred times about DUI's, seen commercials, attended training...etc..etc.... I'm not trying to take the Holy'r than thou approach, but I have 20 years service to date and I know that if you got "caught" drinking and driving, you deserve everything you get.
The answer to your question is simple, quit drinking. Since you obviously can't do that.... the military is going to keep you from driving.
Hard lesson to learn, but consider yourself fortunate considering the alternative.

Sorry to hear. Guess it could be good--like you said, nobody was hurt, and it sounds like it was a shock to you, so there won't be a next time. One of the biggest issues with DUIs is the repeat offenders--if you fix it, great.
And to answer your question, for your MY07 I'd get a JR Rotrex high-boost supercharger. If you don't have money saved, my second choice would be the Toda reflash. Both require you to do send off the ECU.

Good luck man! It's weird for me to hear the reactions of people on the forum. In the area at which I live, I know more people my age that have gotten DUI's than not. I'd say atleast 60% of my male friends and co workers have gotten DUI's. One of my good friends just got one 2 weekends ago after leaving the bar when we were hanging out.
I'm not saying this is right by any means, it just seems a lot of people aren't aware of how common this is. Or... maybe, it's very area dependent.
Hope everything works out for you, it's good to see there are still some mature enough people on this site to own up to their mistakes and share them with the public as a reminder.

"60 days restricted to work and school only after that."
Do you have EPD on top of this? That and checking in every 2 hours is the worst! Here on Pendleton some commanders make you hold "Don't drink and Drive" signs on busy streets in your service uniform (in our case, "C's").

To the what would you do to the car question, I'd build the full engine, J's or Spoon stroker kit with ERL or Alaniz port job and maybe oversize intake valves, Spoon .2 mm thinner headgasket, 5 angle valve job, slight head mill and some form of standalone, probably Haltech or HKS Fcon V Pro.
Give the guy a break. I understand the severity of the situation but people DO make mistakes. I forgot that none of you have skeletons in your closets that you're ashamed of.
Drinking and driving is NOT acceptable and nobody is asking you to have sympathy for the guy, however, people DO make mistakes. Beating him down while he's already in a bad position doesn't help anything.
I'm completely unfamiliar with the military courts, however, your best bet will always be a good lawyer.
Good luck man...these situations suck...

Do our fine community of readers all feel above this ever happening to them? Or ever "qualifying" for the same experience? Many of us "qualified" in our youth, few were actually caught and punished.
OP, thanks for your example, by the grace of all no one was hurt. Should you fail to learn from this very personal lesson, you fail us all. Thank you for sharing. Do not take negative responses personally, such people are still in denial that they could ever do wrong. They forget their humanity.
Thanks for taking this one for the team.
Because of your experience, and your sharing of it, I re-commit my promise to myself and those I love to never drink and drive, or let any friend of mine do so, either.
