No harm, no foul. Legalize all victemless crimes and tax the crap out of them like they do everything else. Make peopleresponsible for the results of their ctions, not the actions themselves.

If it helps...Smoke it!
Our brothers to the north seem to look at the medical use of marijuana in a more progressive light than the rest of us.
Marijuana has been legalized for medical purposes in the great white north.

Marijuana should be legalized for controlled medical use!

I have not personally indulged for over 30 years but I do know that it is beneficial for those people who are undergoing chemotherapy.

My uncle died a terrible death from cancer about 15 years ago. Like most patients, he experienced serious reactions to the chemo treatment. His doctor tried to legally secure medicinal marijuana to ease the side affects. After three weeks of nothing but bureaucratic roadblocks, the Doctor gave up.

My cousin and I took it from there.

It took all of 20 minutes to take a drive downtown, secure the "prescription", and return. It helped my uncle immensely and he used it sparingly until his eventual death.

Many of the "legal FDA approved drugs" are much more dangerous than marijuana! Maybe we need to request that the current administration request a review of acceptable "herbal" drugs.

Many cancer patients are needlessly suffering.

Damn I hate these topics! They make me want to rant!

I say smoke it if you've got it just be sure to share. For the record, personal posession in most places in Canada is a $100 ticket, in others (ie BC) it's not enforced at all. Basically if you keep it to yourself then nobody will bother you.

I remember watching a COPS like show but it was the RCMP. They got called to a house because there was a loud party and the neighbours complained. They got there and asked them to keep it down. While the cop was standing in the door some guy lit up a joint. The cop was like WTF are you doing? I'm standing right here! Then the cop said don't smoke pot and turned and left.

Actually the drug laws in the US are draconian. It's a blanket law that simply lists all the drugs that are illegal. Drugs can be added and removed arbitrarily without congressional or senate consent. Basically it means that the president has carte blanche to do as he pleases without any accountability. Thank Mr. Nixon for that one. Add alcohol and presto! Prohibition, all without any vote at all. It's akin to a war bill which gives the president the right to do whatever is necessary to defeat a foriegn threat; hence "the war on drugs".

IMO the main difference between pot and alcohol is that one's legal and the other isn't. No, I don't smoke, but don't think any differently of those who do as long as they use it responsibly.

It's all over Austin...occasionally I feel like I'm in the minority for not doing it!

As recent convert to the "marajuana is good" crowd, I need to speak up on this one.

My whole life I was taught that ALL drugs are bad and they do irreparable harm. I was never to drugs and if I was ever caught, I would be disowned. Then, a strange thing happened. My Grandmother, suffering from Parkinsons, Alzheimers, diabetes and old age started smoking dope pretty much everyday. Said she was going to die and what were they going to do, throw her in jail?? She was 81 years old when she started. She died this past January at the age of 88. For those last 7 years, she was more outgoing, more honest (learned all kinds of shit about my Mom!!), happy and in better spitits. Now, she didn't live longer or anything like that...she just lived better. For the past couple of years (since September 3, 1997, to be precise), I have been really stressed with my work, eating up to 20 Advil a day, sleeping 2-3 hours a night and basically schitzo. I found her "stash" when we cleaned up her stuff. Well, if it worked for her...

Since then, I have been more outgoing, more honest, happy and in better spirits...wonder why? I also get really creative and sleep like a rock. I haven't had an Advil in 4 months. Is smoking dope bad for? Who gives a rat's ass...are *you* going to live forever??

Spark one up for me, Charlie's friend!! Feel better and live well.

Mark

P.S. - If anyone calls the cops, I'll deny ever writing this!!
