marketing that sticks in your head but forces you to never buy the product because you hate the campaign = does not work
What you fail to realize is that you won't buy a lot of products of commercials you love either. Plenty of others will buy HEAD ON because it's top of mind (no pun intended)

I owned a handyman company called The Fix-it crew. Our jingle was a take on the Devo "Whip it" song. We had pople call and tell us how annoying it was as they booked a time to get a bunch stuff worked on.

no...I realize that completely. I just feel that campaigns designed to be overly-obnoxious in an attempt to gain cognitive retainability is a losing proposition. For every one or two that will find the ad kitschy enough to try the product, you will have driven away countless others.

your company has a very niche market in the fact that you provide a srevice that the consuming public needs. the market may be fairly vertical in your area but not nearly as vertical as the national pain relief product market.

I am almost positive that Head-ons success is due to sheer volume of ads ran and in various slots in conjunction with product sponsoring in available shows across the nation. The content of the ad has nothing to do with their success IMHO.

I agree. These are painfully annoying

A losing proposition to you... someone most likely not in their target demo.

We have to seperate your personal choices from those of the mass minions, or what we call the lowest common denominators (or what Nascar calls "fans")

NASCAR, racing for people who don't "get" WWE.

I found the best commercial in history.

Also, check out this page which has all kinds of print ads (with nsfw language on them, but they're graphically fine) that are far more appealing to me
