that's where parents and coaches come in. a kid with hopes and dreams alone will not automatically achieve his/her dreams. guidance plays a big part in a child's future and success.
Uhhhhhhhh........ of course you are not talking about American right? Anyone notice McD ads specifically aim toward the teen and young crowd? Their commercial is usually very hip hop-ish.

edit: didn't realize PrimoGen already posted this tidbit.
You know what Michael Phelps sometimes eats for breakfast? "3 Sandwiches of fried eggs, lettuce, tomato, cheese, fried onions, and mayo. One omelete, a bowl of grits, 3 slices of french toast with powdered sugar, and wash that down with 3 chocolate chip pancakes."

You know what he's mostly eating in China now? Pasta and pizza.

Fact is, for atheletes with outputs like Phelps', a high fat, high calorie diet is a GOOD thing. Tour de France riders, for example, burn 6000 to 9000 calories in a single day. From start to finish, a rider would go through the equivalent of nearly 500 cheeseburgers.

So in that sense, it's perfectly reasonable to a top-tier athlete to gobble down McD's food.

i simply saying that it's insidious for young children watching, aspiring to be great athletes one day, but seeing mcd ads at the same time. what s a kid to think?
well....I, for one, would hope that the kid would fall back on the good parenting and half-way decent eating habits establish by his parents and not eat McD every waking second of his life, and making half-way decent decisions on what they want when going to these types of establishments.

Fast food is fine in moderation.

It is not Mcd's responsibility to provide your family with proper nutrition. They sell what they want becasue it makes them money, and leave it to you to decide what you ingest. No one is forcing the big mac or the double fish filet down your gullet.

Have you walked into a grocery store lately?? about 95% of the available food to purchase there is horrible for you. How is a human being going to survive in such a health-hostile environment?????

I swear...I think this whole free-will and freedom of choice thing is completely lost on some people.
