I beat this game the other day and I'm not too thrilled with it either. The story was lacking. For all the cut scenes it didn't add up to a whole lot of sense. And I thought I'd at least go back to snake for a while instead of 75% of the game raiden.

What really didnt make sense was why did raiden go back to Rose in the end? She was a spy from the start! how was that a happy ending? And this whole idea of the patriots! In the VERY end Octacon said they were dead 100 years? I guess a sequal is needed.

MGS1 was a much better game, easier to follow as well.

Oh well back to GTA3

 

After reading all of your reviews, I've Decided I HAVE to get PS2 just for this Game, All my freinds and I loved the First one, so, I gotta keep going, this game is addicting, and somehow they made it even better.......spending my Chstmas money before I get it....

Ugh... I was playing ALL day today. Finally, after probably 15+ hours, the Colonel came on the comdec and told me to turn the game off 'cuz I was playing for too long. NO JOKE!

I think I should post this in that "you guys don't have a life" thread.

Update: Well, How is everyone doing??? After playing the tanker level many many times I've gotten everyone's dog tags (except for like 5 in all) on every single difficulty level. Anyways, on one of the times I beat it on NORMAL I recieved the STEALTH and the BANDANA! The STEALTH item is the thing Snake has in the movie when he swings down to the ship. It's sweet. Equip it and you can walk around anywhere (except for the lasers) without being seen. It's pretty fun to punch people and they don't know what's going on! IF you run into them, Stealth turns off and they'll shoot you a couple of times. (that's when you turn it back on ) The bandana is just a really long one that floats around. I can't find any real meaning for it, besides looking cool...Well, I should go through each of those levels and get the couple of guys I haven't gotten yet, but I kinda want to start on to the plant....LATE!

bandana = infinite ammo. (remember? snake says it during the game too.)

Here are some from Gamespot

1) Stronger Grip, 100 pull-ups will raise the grip meter

2) Birthday Surprise, Match your birthday to the date on your PS2 in the Plant episode to receive a birthday message.

3) When a guard first spots something, a BLUE exclamation
mark appears very briefly over his head. Manage to shoot that
exclamation point before it disappears and the guard will be
knocked out but remain standing! It will only work with the
BLUE exclamation point.
