what is so wrong with what the RIAA is doing?? hypothetically speaking, if you were running a business, and you are aware that others are undergoing illegal activities that adversely affects your business, would you not do something about it??

It's wrong because RIAA isn't doing anything about keeping up with the times. Now that a new technology has comeout, they should be using that to try to make money, not trying to live in the past.

They've also been ripping off people for years, it's about time we start ripping them off.

It's probably safest to use a wireless network to download music.... When the subpoena arives at your door you can always just say "Hrmm My neighbor must've gotten on my network!"

What ever happened to "Innocent until proven guilty"? When getting a lawyer becomes more expensive than simply settling, well all they have to do is acuse, and you are guilty.

Look at the trend of CD prices - How can CD prices keep going up when the cost to produce them keep going down?

Look how much an artist makes from each CD sale - Why should Mr. New artist only get literally a few cents off of an album?

There also have been no improvements in CD's. They still scratch easy and there's no way you can get a replacement.

Then why are CD costs so much cheaper in Canada than they are here in the US? It makes no sense.

how much do they cost in canada converted into U.S. dollars?? although i can't confirm this for sure, but if there are any differences in prices, i'm guessing that the difference is set by the wholesalers/retailers. i'm sure the record companies are getting the same amount of money from each CD regardless of where on the this planet that CD is sold.

I'm thinking they're around $12-$15 CDD, which at around 60% is way under $10USD.

The last CD's I purchased were from HMV.COM, where I bought around 6 for under $50CDD.
