More proof Japanese kick butt!
Do you guys remember back when Japanese first started making cars? Everyone said that Japanese cars are piece of crap and there is no way Japanese can make good cars like Americans. It's funny how things worked out huh? We have to be humble, not arrogant.
This thread is giving me the whole grad school vibe of "My dad can beat up your dad". No one individual is responsible for an entire country, so what's the point in participating in futility such as this?

What galls me about Japan and Europe is whenever there is trouble *ANYWHERE* in the world America and Americans have to resolve it. Go back a couple years and read some articles about The Serbian mess and replace "Serbia" with Mexico and try to imagine the Germans or French sending peace keeping troops. Yeah, I can't imagine it either. Serbia is a European problem but American has to fix it.
The Japanese are worse, they can't hide fast enough when there's trouble in the world. I know their constitution forbids an offensive military(Thanks Macarthur!), but doesn't excuse them from carrying their end of the board.
And you would think after sending ten of thousands of American to their deaths to liberate France from the Germans and French cowardice, they would be more grateful (Rotten Bastards. See if we save your cowardly asses a *THIRD* time.).
Finally, American treatment of Japan following Japanese surrender is testimony to American character. When one considers Japanese treatment of Allied POWs (Battan, denial of medical treatment, torture, beheading, live vivisection and worse) and that such behavior received official Japanese sanction, US post war policy was extremely merciful and unprecedented in world history. But of course the Japanese hate America too.
That's why Europe (except England) and Japan piss me off.

Actually, I think Japan, France, et al hate America a lot less than you think. I think it's when Americans feel it's necessary to say "Hey, we saved your ass!" that things get a little problematic. I've been all over Europe and some of Asia, and never had trouble as an American, but I didn't run around insisting everyone speak English and asking for the nearest Mc Donalds so I didn't have to eat their f'd up food either.
There are some good reasons a lot of people dislike Americans. *I* don't like Americans a lot of the time.
Edit - ElTianti, I encourage you to vacation in Australia; I hear they love Americans there.

Attention all S2Ki.com members who are not legal citizens of the USA.
While I admire the fact that ElTianti is proud of his nationality, please do not for a minute think that most of America feels the way that he does.
I will not apologize for him. That's not my position and frankly one of the things that I love about this country is the fact that everyone has a right to have their voice heard. I will point out that his attitude is not reflective of most of the citizens of our country. I feel confident saying that because my job forces me to travel the 48 contingous pretty consistently.
I wasn't even going to respond to this thread because it is quite clear what direction it's going to head. However, through my extensive travels around the world, I have seen how much influence one experience with another culture can shape one's attitudes.
