Default Most Resource Intensive Site

I want to visit the most system resource sites I can find to compare browsers on my computer. I hear the new Firefox 4 beta has hardware acceleration enabled by default and I want to see how the Beta compares (speed-wise) to browsing with Chrome, Firefox 3.x, and IE.

Any suggestions for a site that will require some computer horsepower? Ie flash heavy, tons of pictures/Animated GIFs, etc.

Internet Explorer 9 beta is coming out in 45 minutes, might be worth trying that out.

I don't have time to wait for that!

Thanks for the heads up Will check it out shortly in my little internal comparison. I want to see how all the browsers work with our new corporate website and browser-based database/CRM.

set s2ki to display like 100 posts per page, then load up the funny&hot thread in back lot... or the 'random video thread' and click play on all the youtube vids...

^ true enough. Random video thread would be a good one. I always have it set to 100 posts anyway. Thanks!

This article is about what you are trying to do and it has links to some websites you can use to test:

http://www.2advanced.com/

has always been one of the 7 wonders of the internet world to me...the site has always been the most resource heavy site IMHO....sound, flash using high amounts of rsterized images....retarded cool animations and full screen transitions....check that site out for load times... I have been checking in on that site since 1999

they even have archived versions of their site so you can gawk at the eveloution of the site

That is used to test the GPU rendering ability of your GPU and browser. It sucks in non GPU accelerated browsers. On Firefox 4 and IE9 it flies because they're accelerated.
