Mother's Day Gift ideas
So Mother's Day is coming up, and my mother's birthday is also in a few days. I'm looking for some ideas on what to buy her.
She is basically the biggest pack rat I have ever seen. She and my father live in a big house and its filled to the brim with her junk.. I mean everywhere is filled with junk. To make matters worse, they are planning on moving this summer and she will need to get rid of a TON of shit. So.. the very LAST thing I'm going to buy her is another piece of crap to stick on a shelf, in a drawer, in the kitchen, basement, closet, attic, spare bedrooms, cabinets, garage, or anywhere else she has filled with shit. No more nick knacks, patty wacks, or dog bones. She hasn't gotten rid of a piece of clothing, a dish, utensil, toy, furniture, fan, lamp, rug, book, photo, magazine, worthless piece of shit anything for probably 40 years.
The best gift would be something to help facilitate the removal of junk. I'm seriously considering buying her a ton of big ass boxes so she can begin packing now (for the move, or just to get rid of) so maybe, just maybe, she will be close to ready to move by the end of this coming summer. Either that, or renting a dumpster and paying her salary for a week so she can work on getting rid of shit for 5 days straight.
So.. any ideas?

Maybe pay for a couple hours physcological counseling. Many pack rats have a treatable obsession.
Maybe there is someone in your area (a professional "organizer"?) that can help her with getting rid of all those things she doesn't need. I seem to recall watching some show on tv who helped people do exactly that. Trending Topics
