Moto Razr V3
Has anyone purchased this phone yet? Any opinions of it? I'm looking to get one when I switch from T-Mobile to Cingular/AT&T next month but wanted to get some user opinions on it first.

i think samsung's sgh-e800 will give it a run for its money.
The SGH-E800 mobile phone offers a slide-up design reminiscent of the Siemens SL55. The slide is spring-loaded and semi-automatic, and the design weighs just 86 g, measuring 87 x 43 x 23.5 mm. The phone includes a VGA camera, colour screen, 64 polyphonic ringtones. A variant, the SGH-E810 also includes a 180-degree rotation for the camera in place of the E800's vanity mirror and offers motion-JPEG capability for recording 30 seconds of video, and a 15-multishot ability along with 4x zoom.
The E800 boasts a 1.72-inch widescreen 16-bit TFT running at 128 x 160 pixels. Both the E800 and E810 will be available in Q2 2004.
The V3 uses basically the same operating system as current Motorola models. What you pay for is a physical design above anything else. Here are some of the strengths I've noted along with weakness.
+1 - Very good reception, especially coming from a Motorola even in poor receptive places. Perhaps this is part of the quad-band advantage?
+1 - Battery life is acceptable and above Motorola benchmarks. Motorola phones are well phone for poor battery life but this one is quite an improvement.
+1 - Software and access speed is quick. Motorola phones are once again well known for a laggy, slow responding OS. This one shows substantial improvement.
+1 - LCD screens are leading benchmarks for cellular manufacturers, this has to be the best I've seen. Touchpad is great and the thin size speaks for itself.
+1 - Bluetooth connectivity and distance is further improved, does not consume a significant amount of battery life as well.
-1 - Camera still needs improvement on megapixel resolution, unfortunately SonyEricsson is still doing a better job, perhaps due to their cybershot experience in building relatively well digital cameras for a well priced budget.
-1 - Device is brittle and can be easily damaged if dropped. External LCD screen needs care to ensure scratching or damage.
-1 - Ringtones can be slightly louder, could be attributed by the 24-bit polymorphic ringtones type instead of 4 from previous Motorola models. Vibration is also slightly weaker than usual Motorola models perhaps due to small casing.

Don't have one, but played around with one when I was visiting Hong Kong... I currently use a Moto v600 so similar OS... I agree with SSS 01 for the most part... I think the OS is still a bit slow on the V3.... the 3D Phonebook could be faster hehe.
I still hate how motorola handles its contacts, with different contacts to handle each phone number. Instead of multiple numbers under a single contact. Other than that - it's pretty dang nice, except that it's a bit pricey.
One comment about the camera though - although it's not 1 megapixel, I think the pictures come out better than the sony ericcson s70! Maybe it was just me. But there's my cent and a half.

i have a phone not many people in the US have: Sharp GX31 with quad band capabilities, 1.3 megapixel camera, flash, SD card expansion slot, MP3 player, and a host of other capabilities all rolled into one
