Fun thread!

The Hudson Hornet was the kickass car of its time, but fell to the wayside when Chevy began its V8 series in 55. The Hornets are still one of the best looking hot rods, lowered and flamed.

But, you know, I'm not sure I would have defended her if she chose that other Detroit creation, the Aztek!

Hi Laird
My first car was a 54 Hudson Hornet with twin carbs. It was a hydromatic, quick and handled beautifully. As to Hudson Hornet vs. Chevy (327!) check this out:

Hudson kicked its ass. Anyway, stock quarter mile 15.77 seconds.
I liked the 48-53 body style better - looked like a full sized Porsche.
See ya later!

BTW, my Hudson was a 4 dr sedan, fast back, dark blue over light blue. This maroon convertible is a picture from one of the Hudson websites. Thought you all might get a kick out of it.

Geez, JRM, lay off the caffeine, mmmmkay?
Those of us who like the PT Cruiser have been subjected to some good-natured ragging. Do a search and you'll find two recent threads on this very topic. All in fun and no upsets.
You did imply that those that liked this car had been manipulated into buying a bad product. That could be construed as an insult. Not everyone wants or needs 240hp. It's called personal preference...You came off rather strong in your dislike of this car and its company and Laird responded in kind (though with less inflammatory language, IMHO). Heed your own advice..."lighten up".
We are allowed to disagree aren't we?

Sure, we all disagree about one thing or another! I take in in stride to. Just don't make it personal!
You can stuff your personal advice!!
I didn't know that I was talking to Jesus Christ himself!

IMO Laird cops a little too much flak over his wife's choice of car. We do tend to get a bit one-eyed on this board occassionally.
2x6spds - that car is beautiful.
