Not that I don't necessarily believe you but do you have a link of proof to this claim. I would have thought otherwise, which is why I'm asking for reading material.
I remember hearing that in my criminal justice class. Its usually more expensive to kill someone then to keep them in jail for life.

Its more so because of all the appeals and what not that makes the death penality so expensive. I know I have the numbers written down somewhere but I don't have my notebook on me at the moment.

No glorious death awaits, simply tedium, monotony, fear, and a long time later, a miserable and pathetic expiration.

Besides, it's cheaper to keep in prison for life than put him to death.
Isn't that what they're doing in Afghanistan. Seriously, hes going to have a hell of a time in prison, because he's protected under the prison laws. He will get his books, he will be happy with where he is. You know why? This guys a fanatic! Solitary confinement doesn't do s*** to this guy! He's a psycho from the first place to believe that paradise awaits him in death. I say kill him, and let him come under the realization of what hell he's going to. Unless of course, you believe in the paradise claim? Because if you do, then that's where he's going. BUt if you think, all sinners will remain in hell, then why not kill him. At least we won't get to read his books and further his positive judgement about himself.

And doesn't the general complaint about prisons revolve around the fact that keeping someone in prison is rediculously expensive? I don't see how a few chemicals could cost more than having to feed someone for 80 years.

If this doesn't deserve the death penalty, I don't know what does.

I would bet 5 pennies the guy wants to be killed at our government's hands, he probably thinks it would make him a martyr or some shit...

let him rot in prison - the other inmates with hopefully do their worst....

While the comfort of prison arguement is really neither here nor there, I believe that life in prison is CHEAPER than lethal injection or whatnot because of the enourmous court costs associated with the death penalty appeals process...or so I have read....

If he were to be executed, then he would become a martyr among his peer group, that was his intention throughout the trial.

By life imprisonment, he'll suffer greatly. He'll struggle to be able pray five times a day, and will likely spend all his time in solitary, as I'd hazard a guess that most of the other inmates would gladly kill him.

Jeffrey Dahmer lasted 2 1/2 years before an inmate killed him. Moussaoui might last a little less than that.

According to the news, he will be sent to the United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX) in Florence, Colorado, nicknamed the Alcatraz of the Rockies.

I like his statement at the end of the hearing... "America, you lost. ... I won."

After doing a quick wikipedia on ADX, this is what Moussaoui won...

- He won a permanent residence at the lovely United States Penitentiary Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX) in Florence, Colorado, nicknamed the Alcatraz of the Rockies.

- He won a lifetime of solitary confinement of 23 hours per day.

- He won a 7 x 12 cell where he will spend 23 hours per day for the next 40 to 50 years of his pathetic life.

- During the one hour per day that they allow him to exercise or whatever, he won a lifetime of beatdowns, getting his assed kicked, raped and tossing Big Daddy's salad.

I perfer to have him executed, which is what he wanted, but at least with a life sentence, he didn't get what he wanted and he will rot in hell for the next 40 to 50 years, spending everyday wishing he was dead.
