I understand, but any combination of these settings will not give me the desired results. I would like for my taskbar to show One Firefox tab, but within this window, I'd like the other Firefox tabs.

Then select 'a new tab in the most recent window'. AFAIK it works. How did you install firefox? Did you uninstall the old version before you upgraded?

I did not uninstall the preview version. I have selected this setting, and I still get multiple FF windows.

Sidenote: I do see one tab at the top of the FF browser that would be a start, but no matter what I do it always opens a new window. Under what circumstances will I NOT get a new window?

I feel stoopid.

uninstall, reinstall. mozilla is sensitive about installing over a previous version.

Okay, uninstall, reinstall, blah. I've done it all now. What I want, is...Firefox to NEVER occupy more than one tab in my taskbar. Now, under only some circumstances will Firefox open tabs in the existing window. Will one of the extensions help me?
