Thanks I'll try that. I know that with windows media files you can right click then go properties but for QT and shockwave that doesn't work.

Here's a few tweaks for you guys...

Type "about:config" in your firefox address bar. The settings you're looking for are:

1.) network.http.pipelining
2.) network.http.pipelining.firstrequest
3.) network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
4.) network.http.proxy.pipelining

Set #1, #2, and #4 to "true". Set #3 to a high number, like 32. If some of the settings aren't there, just create them.

I told you already...they 'tweak' it

Pipelining allows firefox to request objects without waiting for a response, so it can grab a bunch of stuff at once.

browser.link.open_external <<< is this the preference that controls auto tab?

when i click on www.yahoo.com i want a tab to load not a new ff.

sucks can't tweak it with about:config hopefully an external programmer is smart enough to do an extension

mv4s, you're making it harder than it really is. go to options, advanced, and look at the tabbed browsing section...

I used to use Opera, and it would never open a new window, just an ass-load of tabs, I like that. I cannot set ff to work like this just from advanced options. Any ideas.
