After Vtecvoodoo's event, I had to get down to Irvine to get in a round of golf with my dad. Since I was short on time, I went to this restaurant I used to eat at, to grab a quick bite. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. I had to rub my eyes to make sure. Sure enough, a Japanese restaurant used "Mugen" to describe their cuisine. I must say after I ate there, I felt faster and lighter. Mugen R&D does it again.

The word "mugen" means "limitless" or "infinite". Was it an all you can eat restaurant That's normally called "viking" in Japanese for reasons that elude me. At a hotel in Tokyo where I sometimes stay there is a sign pointing to "Chinese Viking", which must leave many westerners puzzled

Ahhh, no, sorry, at least not literally. Maybe by metaphorical extension of the meaning given above, but it's stretching things a bit.

There is a homonym however that means "dreams", "fantasy" or "visions". That might be the word the restaurant was using, but it's completely unrelated to the "Mugen" that is the company name.

Btw, the pronunciation and meaning of Mugen has already been discussed in great detail in the following thread.

"Mugen Japanese Cuisine" is located off of Coronado and Harvard in some shopping center right next to Rubio's.

Damn, how many people went to play golf after the Nrom Reeves event. There were a bunch of people doing that.

Interesting name for a restaurant.

Nope, I know Troajn Horse was going golfing later and so was 9000RPM. Guess you were the third guy that was going golfing.
