does the spotter really need to have his hands all over the bar like that? even the slightest bit of help is help.....

I hate people spotting me..... of course I can only bench 265ish....
its a mind set thing knowing that almsot 400lbs is isnt going to slam down on your chest. i dont use a spotter unless i lift over 3 plates (315lbs).

thats the way my friend spots. if you watch the 1st video on the 1st page, he keeps his hand under the bar.

most i ever squated was in high school and it was 4 something. we didnt do dead lift. i dont like those types of leg work outs because of the back strain. dont mind legpress.

Well my bench always sucked so I had to make up the total weight in something

As for the back strain, yep that is why I have a torn disk and don't compete anymore, but I can still press 250-275 raw with no shirt or wrist wraps or belt, so I don't complain.

As far as a spotter goes, upon heavier weight, we always got a lift off. It is just easier to keep form and get in the grove with someone helping you get it in position.

IMO the best is to have a lifter, and then two guys with one on each side of the stack ready to take it off of you if you stall or get stapled. When you are getting into the 400 club it is asking a lot of the person to pretty much upright row the weight off your chest.

This is definitely realistic without steroids, the prohormone you took probably gave you a small gain back in the day, 10lbs or so weight. I have been working out since I was around 16 I guess. I am 6'3, 180 lbs 25 years old and I have never injected anything, it is all in the diet. You have a very strict diet and it is important to stay consistent to get these gains. I have put up 350 and that is with training on flat bench, flat bench tends to develop more strength than definition.
I usually lift with just dumb bells now because of the stabilizer muscles and definition and I have also had many people ask me if I'm juicing, it is not a big deal to me because most just don't understand how to eat or lift. Changing the workout is a must to putting on size. I have not been training like I need to but will be back in there very soon, congrats and good work.

thats alot of weight for dead lift.. and thats the huge reason why i dont do those kind of work outs. im sorry to hear about your back disk problems arent fun. thats amazing you can still bench that kind of weight too. i cringe every time my buddy is doing strait legged deadlifts with 315-350lbs

iv been lifting with my friend (spotter in the video) for 4 years or so. i havent attempted a huge amount of weight that i didnt think i could do.
theres people down there that do have to spotters when their benching 450-500lbs.

thanks man.
but there is a big difference of being asked if im juicing... and being told im juicing.
i take it as a compliment when they ask, but it really gets under my skin when they accuse you of it.

and im with you 100% on the diet. wish i would have listening back in high school..

i do flat bench the most. but im right behind it with dumbells, incline and now alot more decline. along with flys.

350 is a good weight. specially for 6'3". with that height, im assuming you have a long reach as well. more space to have to move the weight.

Very impressive. I've been working out since I was 17 and I am now 27. I haven't missed more than 2 weeks at the gym in those 10 years.

From my experience, don't listen to what other people say when they try and tell you how to work out. Everyone is different and has their own routines. Set your goals and keep moving up. It's a very big mental game when it comes to maxing out weight.

But I'm sure by now, you know all of this. Good luck, be safe, and don't get hurt.
