---My 365lb Max Bench press video---
i go to the gym 3ish times per week. not all hardcore about it but ive been going for about 8 months now. when i started i could barely bench 110lbs, now i do 135 for a warmup, then 200 as many times as i can which is usually between 6 and 8, then 185 for a cool down either 9 or 10 times. im 6ft and hover around 180lbs. 200lbs is what id like to weigh, which is going to take some time. bit time is what i got lol

who ever told you that needs to be bitch slapped. thats a myth. the only reason that could be remotely true is a young person lifting way too much weight with bad form for and extended amount of time.. i could see possible damage to growth plates.
but weight lifting in general will not stunt growth. so please dont trash my thread with your bs nonsense.

I want to get my bench weight up.
Im 5'2'', just under 100lbs and im benching 135 for 3 - 5 reps usually at the end of my work out. My normal bench is 115 for 10 - 12 reps per set.

I realize you said you know a lot of people your age/weight doing that kind of weight but very, very, very few people at 180lbs, muchless 5'9 which is not short, can come close to 365lbs flat bench. I don't know anyone under 225 that can do that.
I am only a year or two older than you and roughly your size. In college I competed in the flat bench press competition even though I only trained with dumb bells for the 6 months prior. I was also cutting at the time and was about at 165lbs and entered that class. I got 2nd place with 255lbs in the 2nd biggest college in the U.S.
The weights jump up very quickly with weight but I don't think they got passed the 315 mark until 185lbs, and that guy was 5'5. For the record, you have to stall with the bar on your chest, so you can't bounce it in the competition which can be good for 25-75lbs depending on the person.
At 165 I did hit 315 decline [also stall on your chest] and there was no formal competition but I believe I would have won it.
Unfortunately by my senior year in college it started taking its toll. First my hip joint started causing me issues with squats, then my left shoulder when I had trouble putting some 100's down doing incline bench with dumbells. After that I stopped doing flat bench as it would irritate my shoulder. Now I don't do anything with a bar over about 225lbs.
Keep up the good work. My diet is as strict as yours and has been for about 3 years. It blows my mind how the majority of people treat their bodies.

dont take this the wrong way but theres a big difference from training for 6 months compaired to years.. and decline compaired to flat.. and from 165 to 185 in body weight is a pretty decent difference...one of the people i lift with is around 155-160 and hes doing around 225-240. congrats on the contest though.
if you were able to put 255 up with only 6 months of training, you could have hit 300 with more time. thats really good. it took me alot longer then 6 months to be able to do 255
again i stated i didnt mean to bounce, iv never done that much weight before, i stall when repping 275-315. the most iv ever done, lift up, stall, and up without anyone even touching the bar was 335 or 345.
thats the huge reason i dont like squats... back, knees, sholders, etc. too much to damage with that kind of weight.
i hear you man. the food you eat or dont eat can make HUGE impacts on your body.
