Default My dad has had pretty bad nose bleeds

Yesterday my dad had a nosebleed at his work, he said he pulled a large blood clot out of his nose about 3 inches long.. The size of a small mouse he said.

Just a second ago his nose started bleeding again and it took him like ten minutes to get it to stop. He is going to see the doctor Monday but I was curious if someone knew anything on here.

Thanks, Miles

We need more info.

How old is he?
What is his general health? Fit, average, or fat and flabby, etc
Is he a smoker?
Family history of cancer, heart disease, etc.

Tell him to stop picking his nose.

some people just have thin membrane in their nose that is very susceptable to bleeding. Tell him to stop picking it. The Doc will probably want to cauterize it.

I used to have nosebleeds a lot as a child. I would get them almost every night! It has a lot to do with the humidity of the air in my case. Not sure if that helps.

where do you live???? dry climates can wreck havoc on a nose...i get them alot!!! especially blowing my nose in the shower in the mornings.....the blood clot is probably nothing to worry i wouldnt think,..as i have had them big before too....when i moved from nor cal to minnesota my nose stopped bleeding,..moved back west and up they started again.
