I'm happy you can your dog some more.

I cried reading this thread but it is good to see all of us fellow human beings connecting about our dogs.

I want to add one more thing that I don't think you, Evan, need to know but someone else with two dogs may. I read in Dear Abby or Ann Landers about this so I did it. When my dog Kyras died, (he told me good-bye with his eyes at home, 2 days before he died at the vet), we took our other dog, Whiskey, to see him dead at the vet. The point was to let Whiskey know that her best friend would not be coming home so she would not look for him constantly. Whiskey instantly knew that Kyras was dead and began shaking and wanted out of the room. She was depressed instantly just like we all were but she understood he was gone. That was 3 1/2 years ago and Whiskey now loves Vector, our third German Shepherd. I don't want to think of repeating this when Whiskey dies but we probably will.

this has to be the saddest thread... i am almost crying....

We had a dog get dognapped when she was 13... and i cried ... My lovebird died while i was on vacation and i am still sad....

I have since replaced both.. but the thought of the first will always stay with you...

at least you can spend more time with your dog... Cherish it.. take her out for a ride in your S if you haven't done it.. and spend some time alone at a park with her when she is well enough to go out....

Our 8.5 year old dobermann had to be put to sleep last November because his heart began to enlarge and oxygen was not able to get to his muscles efficiently. He would huff and puff from just a 10 feet walk.

It was a very sad day the day we took him to the vet to put to sleep.

Hoonda,
Did your dog really get run over?? Or are you just trying to make this the crying post? I'm really sorry if he/she did. Did he/she die?

This photo is of my dogs Vector and Whiskey. Vector is our replacement after losing Kyras. As you can see, if I open my van up they jump in. I took them up to Kennedy Meadows the day this was taken so they were patiently waiting for me to pack.
