I had an issue like this way back when. I had the phone company come out, play around with no success, and then I suggested they install a second line just for the dsl. They did, and it solved my problems. I didn't have to pay for the extra line, and I got to throw away all my filters. Maybe you can try this too?

i actually do. is it possible to check to see if this is the culprit by either disconnecting the wireless phone, or turn off the wireless function on the router?? also, my dsl gets disconnected ONLY when the phone rings. talking on the wireless phone itself doesn't really have an effect, as far as i know.
sure, it's easy to test.

hook your computer up to the router via the ethernet port and surf the web. then have someone call you.

^ actually, this effect is occurring at the phoneline, modem, or router level, cuz even my ethernet connected puters get "interrupted" when the phone rings.

then it's likely the filters on the line. make sure they're set up correctly: one plug should be distinctly labeled "phone" and the other "data" (or "dsl")

I've seen filters be defective also, might wanna replace them all. Pack of 5 more should be about $20 bucks from SBC, or you can get them at Frys, Radioshack, etc.

George, you can usually just switch the channel on your router. In the US, there's usually 11 channels you can use.

so to be perfectly clear: i need to have filters on all the working phone jacks, regardless if there is a phone plugged into it or not??
