I've had a couple salespeople lie to me in the past by offering me "wholesale pricing" that is HIGHER than retail pricing according to NADA or KBB.

what really got me ticked off was that he would not let me test drive the car.
Same thing happens to me, too. I've test-driven a few sports cars at dealers: Boxster & Boxster S, RX8, TT, SLK. But none of the local Honda dealers would let me test-drive an S2000. My guess is that because I'm a pretty young guy, only 22 yrs old (I did however afforded my own Z4), that they dont think I can afford an S2000. So they just didn't wanna bother.

At the Mazda dealer, the sales that went out on the test-drive with me flat out admitted he wouldn't have given me a test-drive if he didn't see me getting out of my Z4.

BMW dealers have generally given me bad experiences as well. Their sales are usually either pushy or snobby like someone has mentioned in this thread. Although I have been able to get test-drives without much trouble (test-drove Z4 numerous times, and a 6 series couple recently).

The worst dealer I've encountered, I gotta say it's the Nissan/Infiniti dealer at Automall in Richmond, B.C.. Twice when I pulled into their customer parking lot in my Z4, their sales guys, who were standidng outside, came to me right away and basically insulted my car in front of me, asking me if I'm trying to correct the obvious wrong choice I made ,and asking me if I wanna trade in my Z4 for an upgrade (pointing at the G35 coupe), while not failing to say the trade-in price might not be good since it'll be hard to sell that ugly thing. Hey, I can understand if people just don't like certain cars and feel the need to make others know, but hearing those words coming out of car sales people who are trying to sell me cars just ain't right. They lost all their credibility before I even stepped into the dealer. Another time, when I asked for a test-drive in the 350Z, the sales guy rejected me, saying with a really cocky tone that they have to filter out certain people who they know won't be able to afford certain cars and can't give test-drives to everyone. That's just total B.S.. I can't believe they're discriminating people like that. I used to stay in the Silicon Valley area with family, and I know that in the area, no car sales would assume that next young guy wearing a t-shirt and shorts who looks in his early 20's and who has just walked in isn't capable of selling a small portion of his stock shares and buying a high-end car in cash right on the spot.

HAHA! When I was about 20 I was at a dealership and the sales man would not back off, he kept badgering and badgering, until I yelled "Back the FUC% up!". My god you should have seen the look on his face! It was priceless.

Ha, I had the same crap here.

Honda dealer told me to come back when I won the lottery! I bought my RX8 without test driving it, then I was able to test drive a 350Z when I drove up in the RX8. The Honda dealer didn't see my RX8 hense the attitude.

We have 2 BMW dealerships in cincinnati and I have had completely different experiences at them. At the first one, I asked if they had any Mcoupes or Mroadsters, and they said they had 3 coupes. I was amazed that they had so many, so we went out to look at them and the salesperson brought me to a Mini Cooper. I said, "NO, an Mcoupe, not a Mini Cooper." After then taking me to an M3 convertible (which he thought was called the 'roadster') I knew they had no idea what it was, so I explained that it was a Z3 with either the s52 or s54 engine from the M3 in it. He then said BMW has never made that car. I just walked out after that.

I then went across town to the other dealership and the salesman knew all about the car, but not surprisingly, they didnt have any. So I told him that I was slightlyinterested in an e46 M3, but I would have to come in and talk about it some other time because I needed to leave. I called him a few days later and before I could even say anything, he said they would have a brand new e46 M3 gassed up, waiting for me in 5 min. I got there, and sure enough the salesman just handed me the keys without a question and said "Have fun, I have a delivery that will take a little over an hour, I'll just see you whenever you come back." I was shocked! I took care of the car and decided it wasnt what I was looking for, so I brought it back about 20 min later. I called him the next day and told him how much I appreciated the service, and told him that if he sees an Mcoupe or roadster to give me a call. That was over a month ago, and he still hasnt called to bother me about buying an M3 or something else I dont want.
