Default Are my friends being stupid or is it just me?

I get so pissed of at my friends and the stupid sh!t they pull. There is a narrow, twisty road by my house that my friends like to drive. I have no problem with that, but the fact that the speed limit is 35 and they drive 80 and at night makes me a little mad. They keep telling me when I get my S I have to come along with them and I keep telling them no. I really think that kind of driving is meant for the track and should never be done on public roads. I ask them, "What if you came around the corner doing 80 and a deer was standing in the road?" They said, "Well that is one thing that I worry about." I don't think I am over reacting, do you?

Thanks

It's not just you but there's nothing you can do to alter their behavior so don't frustrate yourself trying. Just hold your ground. Don't give in to peer pressure and do something that's against your beliefs.

I just think it's stupid to risk your $30+ car, and more importantly your life and the lives of others. I always tell them thats what the track is for. I just had to blow off some steam about this situation.

I %100 agree. Especially at night, where the danger of hitting things you can't see (like people) is greatly increased. Good for you and I hope you do stand you ground. Maybe someday they'll come around.

I have one pet hate which many others just don't see ... feel free to argue

Driving on the wrong side of the road, cutting corners or taking "cleaner lines".

I've seen this happen too many times when an unseen car has pulled out of side-roads and then he finds someone on the wrong-side of the road heading towards him! Seen it with cyclists minding there own business and then ....

Be careful out there chaps ... just because we can't see someone else ... it doesn't mean that they are not actually there!
