Default My Net is really slow, why??

I've got cable, so I know it's a location thing, but I got cable in september and it was really fast the first couple months, but now the last couple months, it's been really slow, almost like I was on 56K, I don't know what the problem is... I've been on my friend's computer who lives in the same general area, and his is way faster than mine.. we both have the same company, just a different box, any suggestions or is it just a location thing?

download spybot and update it and use it. plus make sure a bunch of crap isn't running in your background (use MSCONFIG to determine this). Things like qttask.exe (quicktime) and realplay.exe (realplayer scheduler) suck the crap out of your machine.

Get stinger....sounds like you might have a worm workin on your computer. It won't show up anywhere, just eats up your bandwidth. Run Stinger and it should get rid of all these annoying viruses for you and then get an anti-virus software and/or a firewall

Actually, location doesn't affect Cable, it affects DSL.

Hey presidente, I have a program that will let you permit you access to your msconfig function (the program was originally developed for platforms like W2K Pro which didn't support the msconfig from the Run command).

Check your PM.
