I would never drive aggressivley if my passenger wasn't down. As far as unexpected events, hey man, shit happens, such as life. A deer could run out in front of your car at 35 mph and wind up inside the cabin of your car. I have heard of deer literally running into the side of an automobile. If one runs out in front of me and I don't think I will be able to stop, I am going to aim straight for the animal. Hey, it's either the animal, or me. I am going to chose to protect me.

Everything is a risk. We all know that driving 35 mph is not unreasonable.

Weird shit happens all the time. People get in wierd freaky ass fatal accidents at 5 mph.
you're right. freaky accidents DO happen, but when the accident DOES occur, the pertinent question is: did you take all the reasonable precautions that is in your power to PREVENT the accident from happening. if the answer is "NO", then technically it's not really a "freaky" accident, but instead it's an accident that you could had reasonably prevented...

i know that. you specifically made that point clear in your long post. i was merely trying to point out that maybe you didn't undertand me correctly because you thought i was against one taking risks, period--which is not the case.

you're right. sh!t does happen, and everything is a risk. i totally agree with everything you said. but none the less, some of the stuff we consider to be sh!t happening can be avoided or the adverse effect lessen. for example, an impact with a dear at 35mph will not be as severe as one at 50mph. and you know what?? even if you do decide to take that corner at 50mph and hit the poor deer, that's okay--as long as you are only risking your own life. but then again, i'm just repeating myself, so i'll stop...

[quote name='RACER' date='Feb 8 2005, 11:36 PM'] If somebody saw an accident coming, had time to react but didn't, or purposely caused the accident to begin with, well....that is not an accident.
