Imus is a bit of an ass. That also might be an understatement.

On a general note there may be some oversensitivity about what's "racist" but it is definitely all about intent and tone. Have I made statements that could be considered racist? Almost definitely. But I am not racist so the fact that any statements I'd make wouldn't have hurtful intent changes how they'd be perceived.

I don't have to imply a damn thing. You explained my point well enough.
Aww im sowwwyyy, did i hur your feelingsy, i sowwyyy

But your point is still very unclear to me... [/QUOTE]
Uuuummmmmmm, you didn't hurt my feelings.

I was trying to use your own words to state my point, and that is that semantics are inclusive of both any practical meaning as well as affective meaning.

You, Kyushin, have often used words with heavy affective meaning, and then hide behind the lesser base semantics of said word.

I'm further stating that the use of the word "Nappy" falls under this same category.

I'm not saying you're a racist; I'm saying you hide behind base semantics, and that your Second Disclaimer addresses that very fact.

Now why did this turn into a personal assault, the disclaimer was started as a joke for humor, and I know you werent implying im a racist, I was teasing, but the direct YOU kinda had me for a sec. But only time I can think im negative is when referring to a corrput law officer, I totally support and respect police other than that.

But in conclusion, I got no beef with you and call a truce, I dont want a pissing match

peace?

What personal assault? What peace is needed if all I'm doing is pointing out a fact you yourself state in your own disclaimer?

As I've said before, It's rarely ever what one says, but rather, how one says it. Included therein is the not small matter of semantics.

All that said, in light of the Imus fiasco, that semantics of "Nappy" has in fact, changed. Thanks Don!

Why don't we just discuss the finer points of small serving dishes with flat bottoms and curved sides?

I can't believe some people are so clueless. Calling someone a "nappy headed ho" isn't offensive because of the use of the word "nappy" :/ Someone sued for using the term nappy is irrelevant, especially in the absence of a link.

Someone "hit with a suite" just doesn't make any sense.

K, there's obviously a joke in here but I can't come up with the word.
