I've got a Nikon Coolpix 990, which is a great camera if you want to have the excellent quality and the ability to go manual. But it eats AA's like they're going out of style. If had to pick a solid, no-brainer point and shoot for a reasonable price, however, I definitely go with the Kodaks.

I'd go with sony, hands down. I bought a $900 sony, couldn't be any happier. Carl Zeiss lens ... I'm sure many of you know it is renowned for its quality and precision. Excellent camera.

My choice was the Nikon Coolpix 880.....

This was Lips2000's choice as well, you may want to email him to get his thoughts on the camera.

I got the Cannon S100. I love it. It is only about the size of a pack of cigs. It fits in my pocket and in the S2000 glovebox.

I don't like to carry a camera.

The Olympus 3000 Zoom runs from $400-$600. I used it today for my family reunion. Everyone loved it. I recorded My 82 y/old grandma blowing out the candles on her cake with the video feature. I also kep the sound record on each photo to get the clatter in the group. Each picture I take it takes 5 seconds of sound right after.

Its the best!
