Besides just pissing around with each other, neither of my sons have been in a real fight that I know of and I doubt he would want to start with this pile of metal in his mouth.....

I am 37 and still love teasing / ripping (whatever it is called) with some of my funny neighbors, etc...... that is the additude that I want my kids to have at times....

More than likely my son will actually explain what the stupid thing is actually for..... it would be much more fun for him to use one of the witty comments created here.

it's all about self-confidence/self-esteem.... I don't know a single kid(must not have been that cool) that dind't think that they got teased too much. But the ones that did, are stronger mentally now(unless they wore a black trenchcoat, they deal with shit differently).

A comeback isn't reqired... or wave your hand like a jedi-master in front of them and say "you WILL tease me because yer an idiot"

It is used in cases when alot of jaw movement/alignment is required, without taking years.

What your son has are called "herps," my little sister had those as well. If I was your son I would be thankful I had those, it's either these, or rubber bands for a good long while. The herps dramatically reduce the amount of time spent in braces.
"herps" ?

lol... isn't that an std?

I got a winner....

Punk kid: "Wow, you have a lot of metal in your mouth"

Your Son: "Yea, but my Dad has an NSX and an S2000, while you're pops is rockin a pinto"

Or, if you can, let him drive the NSX to school. The ladies will look past the metal. Doesnt matter if he is 7, just do it.

"At least I don't have to get a full facial reconstruction like you do."

EDIT: I had braces for 5 years (from elementary school through jr high, my teeth were horrible.) and never once was I made fun of for my braces. I think braces are so common these days that it doesn't really matter.
