EDIT: I had braces for 5 years (from elementary school through jr high, my teeth were horrible.) and never once was I made fun of for my braces. I think braces are so common these days that it doesn't really matter.
Haha...metal mouth.

...but seriously,
I never made fun of someone for having braces. I don't remember seeing it happen a lot either.

some of you guys are missing it...... look at the picture at the top of page 2.

he has a HUGE metal contraption in his mouth... it is not just simple "braces". He can barely even close his mouth due to this thing.

So far the best answer has been "I got Hydraulics for my mouth" which made me laugh.

I don't think people make fun of braces, but I think he put on 2lbs when they installed this damned thing.

I don't think even with all that metal he's going to get ripped on much.

He'll be fine. Nice to see a dad that gives a $hit.

thanks.

Hopefully not too many people say stuff to him. he isn't quick with the snappy reply, so I thought I would help him.

I remember those poor kids who always got picked on. Once one person sees a weakness that kid would be tagged for life. I remember people getting locked in bathrooms with the lights out, being flicked in the ears until their ears were red, wet willies, etc...... I don't have any desire to have my kids do that to anyone or get it from anyone....

I knew a couple kids who had what your son has... and no one really said much to them. And its really only the beginnings middle school which doesn't mean too much. The testosterone hasn't kicked in yet. If your son was in high school it probably be a different story at least in my school... But you shouldn't worry about it too much.

Of course, it wouldn't hurt if he started weight lifting or martial arts or something along those lines...

btw I'm 16...
