Please keep in mind that "APA format" describes a ton of writing style, reporting, and structuring conventions. It is NOT as simple as just italicizing certain things and putting your name on the page headers.
If you're already aware of that then cool, but despite the fact that the teacher doesn't seem too helpful, find out everything you can about what guidelines are most important for the type of paper you're writing. Trust me; that's part of the reason why writing an APA-compliant paper is difficult.
