Need help creating a CD

My friend is going to make me a CD and he wants to know which songs I want. I enjoy all types of music except country. I want my CD to have the newer stuff on it. My question is, if you had to pick 16 or 18 songs to put on a CD, which would they be? For some reason I cant think of any new songs, so I am asking you guys/girls. So someone help me out.
